Colorado

  • 4/12- Adapture Renewables submitted a preliminary application to Alamosa County for a 110-MW solar project and 110-MW BESS project.

New Mexico

  • 4/13- Enlight Renewable Energy secured funding for its 128-MW Quail Ranch project in Albuquerque.

  • 4/11- New Mexico’s state land commissioner said renewable installations on public land grew by seven times since she took office, and expressed support for renewables on state land.

Texas

  • 4/13- Industry advocates continue to express concerns over Senate Bill 819, which could create prohibitive regulations and costs for renewable energy projects.

  • 4/12- Vesper Energy’s 600-MW Hornet Solar project in Swisher County is now operational.

  • 4/11- After fire safety violations by BT Amador Storage, Van Zandt County passed a resolution expressing its opposition to battery storage facilities, and is attempting to block the delivery of lithium-ion batteries to any site within the county until safety concerns have been addressed.

  • HB2-General Appropriation Act Of 2025

    • Lays out budget appropriations, including community solar funds and municipal funds to target solar installations.

    • UPDATE- Signed into law by Governor 4/11.

  • SB48- Community Benefit Fund

    • Creates a community benefit fund to, among other goals, increase renewable energy resources in the state.

    • Introduced in Senate 1/22, passed Senate 2/25, passed House 3/19.

Texas

  • SB2994

    • Amends existing code to set energy efficency and demand reduction targets for state utilities.

    • Introduced in Senate 4/7, referred to Commerce Committee.

    • UPDATE- Hearing to be held 4/15 at 8:00 am.
